StoryPoint Group Retreat
Preparing and planning a work retreat is no small feat. From location and accommodations to culinary and technology services, there are many details to cover. StoryPoint Group recently hosted a retreat at Four Winds New Buffalo.
The sales team was thrilled to make attendees feel like VIPs with a dedicated check-in and welcome champagne service. Dana from StoryPoint Group took a few moments to reflect on the experience:
First and foremost, our experience in setting up and preparing for the retreat was outstanding. We worked with Shannon and she was responsive, timely, accommodating, offered great suggestions and solutions for concerns and overall, just a great planning partner for me in particular. At the actual event she was on top of every detail we had discussed, she was accessible if we had questions and just such a wonderful person with whom to work.
We loved using the boardroom for our welcome venue. It was easy to find, and Shannon had all our room cards ready for us as well as the materials to coincide with our other events (intro into the casino and wristbands for the cocktail party). We enjoyed offering a welcome champagne service at that time as well! It was so nice for our participants to have the ability to avoid the check-in line and not have to give a credit card, so the master invoice was perfect for us.
Bar service was great. The meals were all excellent; we loved the variety and quality of the catered buffet dinner. The dinner at Copper Rock Steakhouse was outstanding as was the service. Pre-ordering made it nice for everyone. The ladies who supported our meeting meals were so kind and on top of everything.
I can’t say enough about the tech support – it makes or breaks training sessions and events, and the Four Winds Team are on point! They were always waiting when we arrived to a room or space and made sure we were set before leaving. They also left us their cards with contact info and even checked in to ensure everything was going well.
Many of our attendees commented on the type of training Four Winds must offer employees. It was very effective. The first morning we were there I was making my way down to Silver Creek Event Center and was trying to remember the path. I asked a member of the Four Winds Maintenance Team if I was going the right way and he stopped what he was doing and walked me all the way there. When I said I didn’t mean to interrupt his work he said it was his pleasure to show me the way and made very pleasant conversation with me throughout the walk. This was not an isolated experience but the overall tone and experience of all of our participants. We wanted our participants to have a break from their day-to-day work, to feel cared for, and the Four Winds Team helped us provide that experience for them.
We have an annual conference, and it is our plan to return again next year. We will also be recommending Four Winds to other departments at StoryPoint Group.
