The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and Four Winds® Casinos are reminding the community of a free event for families this Sunday, which takes place in connection with the Four Winds Invitational 5K Run and Fitness Walk and the final day of the Four Winds Invitational golf tournament.
The Applebee's Kids Zone is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Blackthorn Golf Club, 6100 Nimtz Parkway in South Bend and will include games, activities and snacks for the kids. Admission to the Kids Zone is free, courtesy of Martin's Super Markets and includes:
— Fun by the Yard balloon artist
— South Bend Fire Department Safety House (which features a 35-foot RV to teach kids fire safety)
— Operation Bear Hug (Buy a bear and a child at Beacon Children's Hospital will receive one)
— Cyber/Kids Quest
— Kona Ice Truck
— Beacon- HealthWorks/"Fit Feastival"
— Beacon-Kids Art Therapy with Cookies
— Soccer Shots (skills and games)
— Star Martial Arts (kids board breaking and self-defense)

The Four Winds Invitational golf tournament opened today with one round played each day through Sunday, June 11 at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend. The Four Winds Invitational is part of the Symetra® Tour – Road to the LPGA®. The community is invited to watch each round of tournament play, free of charge. The Four Winds® Invitational was established in 2012 as part of the Symetra® Tour - Road to the LPGA®, and is sponsored by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and Four Winds® Casinos.
